United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
Over last years, the UNFCCC attracted a lot of attention of the international community. Since 1992 it forms the UN body responsible for assembling the Conference Of the Parties every year. COPs deal with the issue of climate change around the world and encourage international cooperation towards a joint solution to all of the environmental matters we are currently facing. The Kyoto Protocol, an important treaty among industrialized nations that sets mandatory limits on greenhouse gas emissions, was crafted, perfected and adopted in COP 3, in Kyoto, Japan. The repercussion of this document echoes in COPs to this day, as the UN makes an effort to tackle the issue of lack of international agreement around climate change with new proposals every year.
