Dear fellow Delegates,
It
is a real pleasure for me to welcome you to the 10th birthday of
the Lahn Model United Nations (LahnMUN) Conference. I am studying
Oriental studies with focus on political science and the economy in the
fifth
semester. I participated in NMUN 2011, representing Ghana in the
African
Development Bank (AfDB), in HamMUN 2010 as the Kingdom of Bahrain in
the Human
Rights Council and in the MainMUN 2010 Economic and Social Council
(ECOSOC) as
the Kingdom of Morocco.
This year’s conference motto is „Think globally, act locally at LahnMUN
2011“. The conference will give all of you a very good opportunity to learn and
improve important live skills like, faculty of judgment and negotiating skills,
enhance academic knowledge and will further your understanding of the United
Nations.
I am very
enthusiastic to take on the challenge to organize the entire conference as Head
of Staff. I really hope you will enjoy your participation and experience this
different way of learning about other Nations, cultures and societies as well
as the working processes in the United Nations. Please feel free to contact me
with any questions or concerns you may come across. I wish you all the best
during your preparations and I look forward to welcoming you in June for
extensive simulations in our special Committees and great fun in the University
town of Marburg.
Kind regards,
Sara Jazi
