We warmly welcome you to the United Nations General Assembly at LahnMUN 2016. We are looking forward to spending an exciting and challenging weekend together with you in Marburg!
We, Erik and Grischa, were assigned the honorable task to chair this year’s General Assembly. Grischa has been doing Model UN almost longer than he can remember. He has chaired countless committees and organized some of the most challenging crisis setups in the European Model UN circuit. Among his many occupations he also served as Secretary General of LahnMUN 2011 and as Secretary General of HamMUN 2013. Currently Grischa is working as a journalist in Hamburg and is about to finish his political science studies at the University of Hamburg. Marburg was where he took his first steps as a MUN delegate and he is especially excited to come back one last time.
Erik has started his Model UN career in 2013 in the North American Model UN circuit. After attending several General Assembly committees, he specialized in the more dynamic crisis committees and helped organizing SSICsim 2014 and HamMUN 2015. Apart from studying physics a the University of Hamburg, he is passionate about nuclear disarmament and is involved with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
Together, we want to make LahnMUN 2016 your most memorable Model UN experience yet. During the conference sessions we challenge you to embrace your country's policy, defend it firmly during debates and compromise where it is necessary to ultimately SOLVE THIS CRISIS. Afterwards, during the socials, we invite you to be open minded, meet your fellow delegates from all over Europe, get to know new perspectives and make long lasting friendships, just as we have done and hopefully will again.
In case that problems or questions arise during your research on the topics, or concerning the conference in general, please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
We are looking forward to meet all of you in Marburg!
